Six and Four Articulations

Laura and Emily Smith are two artists I met in Alfred, NY. The pair are extremely gifted dancers, and are heading their own dance company Six and Four Articulations with five other artists, which is about to embark (or has just embarked) on a cross country tour from the east to the west and back. As it Happens:

Images are in high supply today; rarely do we think twice about where they come from, or even what they mean to us.

Questions are nearly always better than their answers. Just the right amount of mystery is necessary to give a work importance and maintain its urgency. It is a careful balance though, enigmatic and esoteric works repel more than allure.

Afterwords I remember thinking to myself, “A year later and still, it rains.”
